| Ronald Johnson (M 59-65).Together we visited many countries, loved his English sense of humour, and all in all had a wonderful life!”
Ronald’s wife, Diane, has kindly sent in the following.

“Ron died aged 92 on 3rd January this year in Sydney, his home for the last 56 years.

He was born in London and grew up in Reading.

Ron had a love of learning, especially modern history, in which he graduated from Oxford in 1953, following which he completed an M. Ed. at Sydney University.

He loved his job as a housemaster at St Bees, and among his activities, he took, along with other teachers, a party of students on a climbing expedition in the High Atlas mountains in Morocco.

He met his wife Diane in Paddington Sydney, an inner city heritage area fifty years ago after he had emigrated from England.
Ron wrote local history books on Paddington and helped save it as a heritage suburb (thereby helping to save it from being knocked down for high-rise buildings).

Our family grew up in Paddington and still live in the area which is now inner city.
